Ford introduced the fourth generation of Bronco for the 1987 model year. The fourth generation Bronco was introduced alongside the Eighth Generation F-Series upon which it was based. Like its predecessors, this latest generation was only offered as a three door full-size SUV. Two optional V8 (4.9L, 5.8L) engines were available alongside the standard 4.9L inline six unit. Production of the fourth generation Bronco lasted until 1991, when it was replaced by the Fifth Generation Ford Bronco.
